Vintage

Our Tryptique wines are classic Bourgogne-style blends of our Dijon clones 113, 114, and 115. Each vintage of Tryptique is aged for up to 18 months in veteran oak barrels to achieve a well-rounded balance of fruit forward and lingering, spicy pinot finish that is highly expressive of each growing season. Vintage notes: 2011—A cool-season wine whose maturation took nearly seven years in the bottle, with a complex structure that hosts an exquisite spectrum of intense fruit and spice flavors. 2012—A mild season wine that exhibits a surprising range of nuanced pinot fruit flavors, with a hint of citrus on a velvety finish. 2013—An expansive wine with a perfect marriage of pinot flavors, mineral structure, rich texture, and a lingering finish — all that one would hope to achieve from the nearly ideal 2013 growing season. A more assertive and up-front wine than our cooler season pinots, we believe this wine is destined to become a landmark Oregon pinot noir that will deliver deep pinot flavors for a decade or more. 2014—After a nearly ideal 2013 growing season, we did not expect that 2014 could be even better – but it was. We believe that 2014 may be the best vintage for pinot noir in nearly 50 years of pinot viticulture in Oregon. The intensity of bold and deeply fruitful flavors this wine is now showing leads us to believe that 2014 will be another landmark vintage for Tryptique. 2015—The 2015 growing season brought extended periods of warm weather that accentuated the development of fruit flavors in our pinot noir clones from mid to late summer. The wine in barrel showed extraordinary depth and range of pinot flavors — a virtual tour de force of what our estate pinot can be and what our Tryptique wines strive to achieve. The result was a stunning, deeply satisfying pinot noir wine that is rewarding to drink now, but that we expect will become one of the jewels in anyone’s wine cellar in the coming decade. 2016—
